Position Description
: Serve as the key finance resource to the Board of Directors, with his or her primary emphasis focused on:

  • Ensuring that management has the analytical tools available to maintain operational discipline,
  • Ensuring an effective revenue cycle to support cash flow needs of the organization
  • Leveraging GPRMC's pricing agreement and ensuring that the institution receives best pricing and maintains compliance with its GPO agreement
  • Maintaining and enhancing the hospital's system of internal controls
  • Ensuring responsible, sufficiently conservative investment and capital spend policies to maintain and improve the strength of GPRMC's balance sheet.

The CFO has overall responsibility and authority for the financial operations of GPRMC. Specifically, the CFO is functionally responsible for revenue cycle management, financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, Medicare reporting, operating and capital budget development and monitoring, audit and internal control functions, and the financial aspects of new service line development.

Required Education/Experience : BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline.

Preferred candidates will also possess a graduate level degree and a CPA.

A senior level healthcare finance executive, with a minimum of 3 years of hospital CFO experience required.

Requires managerial experience and demonstrated understanding and experience with hospital revenue cycle management, accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, treasury, audit, tax, information technology and materials management.

While candidates with experience in either not-for-profit or for-profit organizations will be considered, it is important that the individual possess either a track record of success in a not-for-profit organization or an in-depth understanding and appreciation for the mission and values of not-for-profits.

An individual who has been actively involved in community activities, and voluntarily played leadership roles in those community activities.

Additional Skills Desired : Candidates for the CFO role must thrive in a rural environment, excel at developing and maintaining relationships, and have a passion for patient centered care. Face-to-face interaction with physicians, the community, the board, and the staff is critically important; thus the CFO will need to live with his/her family, as applicable, in the North Platte area.
