Experience with Meditech electronic health records a plus. Position will consult with physicians regarding accurate documentation
and assist with the identification of procedures that ensure all charges

The CD Specialist is responsible for facilitating improvement in the overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation, as well as obtaining and promoting appropriate documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and HIM coding staff in order to ensure clinical documentations reflects the severity of the patient's illness and results in appropriate reimbursement. Educates members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines on an ongoing basis. Current MA RN license required with 5 yrs RN experience in adult medical/surgical,
critical care, emergency department utilization/case management preferred or RHIA,
or RHIT with CCS required with 5 yrs experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding,
DRG assignment and project management. CEO is putting this position as

Must be familiar with HCPCS, CPT and ICD-9-CM codes, revenue codes and federal and state regulations and laws. This is a corporate position which may require some travel as backup to the hospitals. Position provides direction and oversight of the compliance program. Collaborate with management to provide continual risk assessment and develop comprehensive policies and procedures, compliance training, protocols and internal investigations.
